Biography:
In 2010, at the age of 45, my son and I started taking Karate at his request. We were very fortunate to have found Kyoshi Randy Dauphin’s dojo and started on our Martial Arts journey. I am very proud of the fact my son and I graded to our Shodan together in May 2018 and both continue to train together.
I have always been very active in many sports and overall physical fitness, with a focus in cycling and running. Karate has been such an amazing way for me to challenge myself in many different ways and provides an opportunity for me to continue to train and be physically fit for the rest of my life.
It is never too late to start your Martial Arts journey and it is a great way for parents to connect with their kids in a common goal that is not dependent on age.
I have the privilege of teaching an open class every Wednesday night and, if you have ever considered martial arts, I would encourage you to join us and check it out. We provide a very inclusive, friendly and safe environment where anyone can pursue their goals at their own pace.
