Biography:
I joined karate as Sensei Randy Dauphin’s student in 1999 and quickly fell in love with the challenge and community in the dojo. In 2005, I started undergrad at Western and trained with Hanshi Gary Legacy at the university club. While living in London, Ontario, I also taught children karate under Sensei Patricia Beauregard.
A few years ago, I took a break from karate for a then-indeterminate amount of time. I returned to Sensei Dauphin’s dojo in fall 2019, but in those intervening years I enjoyed group fitness, Zumba, and yoga as ways to stay active. Ultimately, however, I found that karate gave me all that and more.
Currently I teach my own class one night a week and sub for fitness classes. I would love for you to join my class, where you will be sure to work hard under a compassionate eye.
I currently work at the University of Waterloo in the Centre for Teaching Excellence as an educational developer. Teaching, and the development of teachers and students alike, has always been a passion of mine.
